The Central Library of the LUHS

In spring 2007, the LUHS opened the Central Library of the LUHS on the medical campus of the university, directly next to the university hospital and the new building complex of the school of pharmacy, opened in 2013.

Due to the increasing number of international students during the last 15 years, the amount and quality of learning material in the English language has been growing at the same time, as well as the number of free available places for private study places.

Library LUHS

The Central Library of the LUHS is considered one of the most modern university libraries in Europe, having one of the best stocks, and it has been distinguished with many European prizes. In addition, the Central Library of the LUHS was featured in the book “Most Modern European Libraries”.

The library works closely together with other university libraries in Norway, Denmark, Germany, USA and Lebanon, in order to guarantee a continuous transfer of knowledge and data.

With the information system of the university, students have access to the Medline (PubMed) database, which is updated every year with specialized articles from the field of medicine, publications of the EBSCO, access to the Oxford University Press and the knowledge management tool Gideon Online.

Furthermore, the Central Library of the LUHS has several conference rooms and IT rooms, which are available to the students for their daily work. There is also a cafeteria in the ground floor.
